The basic type 172 was presented in November 1955 as a model of the following year and was manufactured until the model 172A replaced it in the beginning of 1960. The Beechcraft Baron is an American light, twin-engined piston utility aircraft. The model was designed and batch manufactured by Beech Aircraft Corporation since 1961. Manufacturing was continued by Hawker Beechcraft Corporation. Baron type creation is based on the previous model the Beechcraft 95 Travel Air. The aircraft was significantly modified: tail was replaced with that of the Beechcraft Debonair, the fuselage was enlarged, the engine nacelles were streamlined, six-cylinder engines were added.
